NextLabs’ Entitlement Manager 6.0.4 Critical Issue - SharePoint out of box web service broken

We have identified one potential critical show stopper on the new version 6.0.4 NextLabs enforcer. After installation, it breaks the out of box SharePoint web services!

Here are the procedures to reproduce the issue.

1. Without NextLabs Enforcer installed, use OoB SharePoint server and try on one site collection the list web services and you will see web service displayed. (See screen shot)

2. Install NextLabs Enforcer and try the same web services listed before, they all error out. (See screen shot)

3. Uninstall NextLabs Enforcer and try the same web services listed before, they all worked as before.

The impacts: SharePoint is using web services internally and this will breaks MANY out of box SharePoint functions and several customizations!!!

One example if user could not log into any SharePoint Microsoft project site. The error is like below.

After working with NextLabs development team, they have confirmed this is a bug and will be fixed in version 6.0.5. I’ll share the details whence we resolve the issue.

As of today March 18, 2013, we just verified the new version 6.0.5.0 (145) and this critical issue has been resolved. We are performing regressing testing to verify any new issues.
